For my tribute to our independence day, I wanted to do a shoot that not only presented the red white and blue color scheme, but that also symbolized my interpretation of American culture. I wanted to translate my thoughts of the current fashion trends that I think define, specifically, an American lifestyle; I wanted to show my take on American attitude and atmosphere, an era dripped in inspiration from the 90's.
I got to meet up with one of my classmates from when I was at Randolph. It was so nice catching up and figuring out what everyone is doing these days. I've been pretty out of the loop. She's going to school in New York, and I know she's going to become some big time model. You all should go check out her modeling page (http://alexandralumartin.tumblr.com/)!
As for the location of the shoot and the idea behind it: I wanted to shoot somewhere natural, isolated, and that had a cool horizon line and nice textures. I also wanted to shoot somewhere I couldn't get in trouble for setting off smoke bombs. So I went to the top of Chapman Mountain again.
We were so lucky with this shoot because on the way to the location it was raining buckets! We were both worried that it would be raining too hard to shoot, and that it wouldn't let up for a good while. But when we pulled up to the location the rain subsided and left behind a beautiful misty, windy, gray essence.
Check out my images from the shoot and let me know what you think!
